New York City: Vietnam is the most crypto-friendly country in the world for a second year in a row, with about 9.4% of its global internet users estimated to have used crypto. By comparison, only 3.2% of Americans used cryptocurrency within their borders last year and ranked them fifth out of all countries where adoption rose across 2019. China is back in the top 10 at number nine with 2.5% of its global internet users using cryptocurrency within their borders last year compared to 2.6% just two years ago when it was first included on these lists published by CoinMarketCap and Statista respectively.

Vietnam is the most crypto-friendly country in the world for a second year in a row, with about 9.4% of its global internet users estimated to have used crypto.

In contrast, the US and China are ranked 5th and 10th respectively on this list: 3.2% and 2%. These numbers are likely skewed by their relatively low levels of penetration relative to other countries on this list (Venezuela at 4%, Egypt at 3%).

By comparison, only 3.2% of Americans used crypto, ranking the U.S. fifth as adoption increases across the globe.

The USA is now behind China, Japan and Korea in terms of cryptocurrency adoption. This is due to the growth of crypto in Asia over the last few years – which has seen its citizens flock to local exchanges and platforms such as OKEx and Huobi Global (which has more than $4bn worth of trades per second). As a result of this rapid growth within Asia’s borders and its surrounding areas around it; poor internet infrastructure; high population density; low levels of education among young adults; lacklustre economic development (and other factors); Vietnam actually ranks first in terms of usage among all countries surveyed by CryptoMarketCap with over 20% being active users while America only manages 3%.

China is back in the top 10 at number nine with 2.5% of its global internet users using crypto in 2019, up from 2.6% in 2018.

The US has been declining steadily since it peaked at number two in 2017, falling to number five among countries with more than one million internet users that year and now coming in at number six (and falling) this year.

U.K., Brazil and Russia are also among countries with more than half a million cryptocurrency users, while India and Japan trail just behind at 300,000 and 200,000 respectively.

According to the report, there are more than half a million cryptocurrency users in the United Kingdom and Brazil, which are ranked third and fourth respectively. Russia is also among countries with more than half a million cryptocurrency users, while India and Japan trail just behind at 300,000 and 200,000 respectively.

Vietnam is the most crypto friendly country in the world

Vietnam has 2.5% of its global internet users using crypto, up from 2.6% in 2018 and an increase of 50% since last year. China is back in the top 10 at number nine with 2.5% of its global internet users using crypto, up from 2.6% in 2018 and an increase of 50%.

While the United States is still lagging behind when it comes to crypto adoption, there’s no doubt we’re slowly making progress. The country has been slow in the past, but we are seeing a rise in interest and investments from businesses looking for new opportunities. Of course, it’s important not to overstate this progress: while there have been some high-profile developments in recent months—such as Coinbase and ICE bringing their services over here—there remains a long way to go before any U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange can compete with those of China or Japan.
