New York City : Despite the FUD, active users of Blockchain Games increased in September, and God’s Unchained was in the top 10 projects in terms of total NFT sales volume.
In September, blockchain-based Decentralized gaming apps – (DApps) saw a surge in user engagement, with certain games reporting significant increases in the number of active players.
Data from DappRadar shows that during the last 30 days, seven out of the top 10 games in terms of “unique wallet addresses interacting with dapp’s smart contracts” rose, with all of the best 5 games showing a profit.
Eight of the top 10 blockchain games right now are mobile-only, according to DappRadar, which may potentially “bring millions of people to the blockchain.
The Benji Bananas (Polygon) app developed by Animoca Brands had the greatest increase in the number of users over the course of the last 30 days rising by 2016.54%. Notably, up until March of this year, this game was a Web2 mobile app. Play-to-earn (P2E) components were then added by Animoca via the Bored Ape Yacht Club-affiliated Ape Coin (APE).
The rise in blockchain players this month coincides with reports from outlets like Bloomberg that the highly connected NFT market trading “frenzy is virtually gone,” according to an article published on September 28. It uses the 97% decline in total NFT trading volumes since January as proof of this.
Top 10 NFT sales are broken by Gods Unchained
In the meanwhile, Gods Unchained, a card war game based on NFT, has had its NFT sales volume sneak into the top 10 during the last 30 days, according to Cryptoslam.
Gods Unchained’s revenue over the last 30 days has increased by 373.25% to $10.8 million. After a relatively poor period from February to August, this is the first time since January that the game’s NFT sales had exceeded $10 million.
The “Season 2” update, which would enhance the game and story, and GameStop’s current promotion of free NFT packs for Pro members might be the causes of this. A $70,000 prize fund for an esports competition was also revealed at the beginning of this week.
According to DappRadar, Gods Unchained have had a sharp rise in active users from 30 days, adding 28.50% to sit at about 14,180. The game is now ranked twenty-eighth in terms of user count, so it yet have a longer way to go before it reaches the top 10.
